The AI Stack for Amazon Sellers
The short version: a solo FBA or FBM seller wins or loses on keyword placement, listing conversion, and knowing their real numbers after Amazon's fees. The five tools below cover all three: from about $19/month to start, about $81/month for the full budget build, and about $151/month if you go the Helium 10 route. One rule before any of it, because it is the one that ends accounts rather than dents margins: AI never touches your reviews. Not writing them, not "optimizing" solicitations, not responding as a fake buyer. We spell out exactly where the line sits below.
1. Claude: the listing writer that reads your reviews

Claude (Pro plan; free tier viable while you're small)
$0–20/month · claude.ai
Three jobs. First, listing copy: feed it your keyword list and product facts, get back a front-loaded title, benefit-led bullets, and an A+ content draft that you then verify line by line against the physical product. Second, customer messages: paste the "where is my package" and "does this fit a 2019 model" threads and approve warm, accurate drafts instead of typing them at 10pm. Third, the underrated one: paste a competitor's (or your own) full review page and ask what buyers actually complain about. That analysis is legitimate product development, and it is the single most defensible AI use on Amazon.

2. Helium 10: the full research suite, priced like one

Helium 10 (Platinum)
~$99/month on current promo pricing, $129 list billed monthly (as of August 2026, verify) · free plan available · helium10.com
Keyword research (Magnet, Cerebro), listing optimization scoring, competitor keyword tracking, and reverse-ASIN lookups in one place. If you sell in a competitive category, Cerebro on your top three competitors is the fastest honest answer to "which searches am I invisible for." The catch is the ladder: the cheap Starter tier was retired for new users in 2026, so Platinum at roughly $99–129/month is now the real entry price, and the Diamond tier runs $279+/month. That is serious money for a seller doing $2K/month.

3. Jungle Scout: most of the research, a third of the price

Jungle Scout (Starter or Growth Accelerator)
~$29–49/month (as of August 2026, verify) · junglescout.com
Product research, keyword data, and sales estimates with the cleanest interface in the category. The Starter plan at about $29/month handles opportunity-finding and keyword basics; Growth Accelerator at about $49/month adds the review-analysis and listing-optimization features a growing shop actually uses. It goes less deep than Helium 10 on keyword tracking, and that trade is exactly right for most sellers under $1M who need direction more than exhaustiveness.

4. sellerboard: the number Amazon's dashboard won't show you

sellerboard (Standard)
~$19/month, $15/month on annual billing (as of August 2026, verify) · sellerboard.com
Live profit per product after FBA fees, storage fees, PPC spend, returns, and refund adjustments. Seller Central shows revenue; sellerboard shows what you kept, and for most sellers the gap between those two numbers is where the business quietly leaks. It also flags reimbursement claims Amazon owes you for lost or damaged inventory, which for established sellers has a way of covering the subscription on its own. The least glamorous tool on this page and the one we'd cancel last.

5. PhotoRoom: a main image that survives the grid

PhotoRoom Pro
~$13/month billed monthly, ~$7.50/month annual (as of August 2026, verify) · photoroom.com
Pure-white main images that pass Amazon's requirements from a phone photo, plus consistent lifestyle mockups for the secondary slots and A+ modules. Your main image is competing in a search grid at thumbnail size; clean, bright, and consistent beats artful every time there. Same tool we recommend to Etsy sellers, same reason: it is the cheapest way to make one product shoot look like six.

The Amazon rules that protect your account
Every tool above is allowed. What follows is where AI use crosses from allowed into account-ending, and it is specific.
What we considered and rejected
| Tool | Why it didn't make the stack |
|---|---|
| ZonGuru / Viral Launch | Capable research suites in the same lane as Helium 10 and Jungle Scout. Neither beat Jungle Scout's price-to-coverage for small sellers in our research pass. If you're on one and it works, don't switch for us. |
| AI review-response and solicitation tools | A category, not a product review: anything that automates review-getting beyond Amazon's own Request a Review sits too close to the manipulation line, and the account you risk is your whole business. |
| AI PPC autopilots | Real category, real results for bigger catalogs, but they assume ad spend and data volume a solo seller starting out doesn't have. A future page once our test cycle can do it justice. |
| Amazon's built-in AI listing generator | Not rejected: use it, it's free. It's just not sufficient. It drafts from your product data but won't do keyword strategy, review analysis, or customer messages, which is why Claude still anchors the stack. |
Common questions
Does Amazon allow AI-written listings?
Yes. Amazon ships its own generative AI listing tools inside Seller Central, so AI-assisted copy is normal. What Amazon enforces is accuracy: every claim is the seller's responsibility, and misleading content risks suppression or suspension. Draft with AI, verify against the physical product.
Can I use AI to get more Amazon reviews?
Not directly. Fabricated, incentivized, or manipulated reviews violate Amazon policy and the FTC's fake-reviews rule. Use AI on the causes instead: analyze existing reviews to fix what buyers complain about, and answer customer messages faster. Products that work and sellers who respond earn reviews the allowed way.
Helium 10 or Jungle Scout?
Under roughly $5K/month in revenue: Jungle Scout, or Helium 10's free plan. Above that, when you're tracking keywords across a catalog and defending rankings, Helium 10 Platinum starts justifying its price. Running both is a leak, not a strategy.
The math
Full stack on the budget path: ~$81/month (Claude Pro, Jungle Scout Starter, sellerboard, PhotoRoom billed monthly). The Helium 10 path runs ~$151/month. Starting out: ~$19/month (sellerboard plus the free tiers of everything else; prices as of August 2026, so always check vendor pages). Against a typical 15% net margin on a $25 product, roughly $3.75 profit per unit, the budget stack needs about 22 extra units a month to break even and the Helium 10 path needs about 40. That is a real bar, and it's exactly why sellerboard comes first: before you buy tools to sell more, know for certain what you earn per unit now. Plenty of sellers discover the honest answer is "fix the fees, not the funnel."
Skip all of it if: you're under about 10 orders a month, still testing your first product, or dabbling in retail arbitrage between other commitments. At that stage every tool above has a free tier or a free month, and your constraint is product-market fit, not tooling. Spend the $81 on inventory and come back when the orders are real.
